Numerical thermal performance analysis of light steel insulated walls under fire

چکیده
Light-gauge steel-framed (LSF) walls are being adopted by the Algerian construction industry as a new alternative to traditional infilled frames due advantages they provide. The strength-to-weight ratio of Cold Formed Section (CFS) leads lighter structures and decrease in building cost. However, case fire, high shape factor combined with loss material properties unprotected, slender CFS can result structural failure. Because their conductivity, elevated temperatures have an effect on thermal performance panels, necessitating use appropriate insulation. purpose this paper is perform numerical analysis behavior LSF protected plasterboard or magnesium oxide board, well cavity insulations. Numerical models developed, using ANSYS software simulate under ISO 834 fire. Thermal simulations done predict temperature profiles, maximum temperatures, estimated fire resistance level (FRL). This research has produced results better evaluate influence different systems protection insulation used for

Thermal and Stress Analysis of Glazing Systems under Fire Conditions
The cracking and subsequent fallout of glazing could significantly affect the dynamics of fires in compartments. The sudden venting resulting from the fallout of a window glass may result in backdraft or flashover depending on the development stage of the fire. The need for research on glazing behaviour in fires was first identified by Emmons [1]. There are two main physical processes involved ...
متن کاملCyclic Testing of Light-Gauge Steel Plate Shear Walls
This paper describes the prototype design, specimen design, experimental set-up, and experimental results of tests on three light-gauge steel plate shear wall (SPSW) concepts. Prototype light-gauge steel plate shear walls are designed as seismic retrofits for a hospital structure in an area of high seismicity and emphasis is placed on minimizing their impact on the existing framing. Three singl...

in this study, stability of geosynthetic reinforced soil retaining walls investigated using plaxis code that is based on finite element method. the effects of axial stiffness, length and vertical space between geosynthetic layers, internal friction angle of soil wall and cohesion of foundation on deformations of wall and maximum axial force of geosynthetic have been investigated. results of ana...
متن کاملNumerical simulations of heat and moisture transport in thermal protective clothing under flash fire conditions.
A numerical model of heat and moisture transport in thermal protective clothing during exposure to a flash fire was introduced. The model was developed with the assumption that textiles are treated as porous media. The numerical model predictions were compared with experimental data from different fabric systems and configurations. Additionally, with the introduction of a skin model, the parame...
